16-year-old international music sensation; singer, songwriter, pianist, composer, actor, philanthropist and PBS star, Ethan Bortnick, returns to PBS in an all-new television concert special – GENERATIONS OF MUSIC.

The spectacular song selection spans many generations and genres, appealing to audiences of all ages. This concert, recorded before a live audience at the Washington Pavilion, features Ethan with a full orchestra, his band, a youth choir, background vocalists and special guests Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul and Mary), Bethany Yarrow and Rufus Cappadocia.

This grand production and exceptional musical arrangements elevate every piece of music beyond any version you’ve heard before. It will make you sing, dance, cry, laugh, hug your loved ones, and feel uplifted. Guided by his Musical Director David Rosenthal (Billy Joel’s Musical Director) and directed by the Emmy nominated Leon Knoles, this concert showcases Ethan’s incredible piano skills, vocal variety and powerful presence, while highlighting his boy-next-door charm and appeal.

Explore all the surprises and feel all the emotions as Ethan dedicates a new song he wrote to his grandmother in the audience, and then performs her favorite song, “Sweet Caroline” with the entire audience singing along. Watch as Ethan welcomes his friend, Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul and Mary) and Peter’s daughter Bethany Yarrow and accompanist Rufus Cappadocia, and together they perform “Puff the Magic Dragon”, “Blowin in the Wind” and “Lift us Up”. You will be re-introduced to his young brother Nathan, who has a surprise of his own! You will laugh, cry, dance, sing, hug your loved ones and feel your spirit uplifted.

Ethan is the youngest person to ever record a PBS special, let alone three. Ethan’s last PBS special aired over 3,000 times and he has taken his concert tour across the country to sold-out concert halls. And now he brings music to all generations across the globe!Ethan has raised over $40 million for charities worldwide and is the Guinness World Record holder for the World’s Youngest Solo Musician to Headline His Own Concert Tour. Fans may have seen Ethan performing with musical heavyweights such as Beyoncé, Elton John, Andrea Bocelli, Katy Perry, Reba McEntire, Barbara Streisand, Tony Bennett, and Celine Dion to name a few. He has also appeared on “The Tonight Show” (four times), “Good Morning America” (twice), Oprah” (twice) and on every other major network.
